Set at the end of the last century, and inspired by a true story -- the "Newsboy Strike of 1899" -- Newsies tells the story of Jack Kelly -- and his group of "Newsies" -- orphans and runaways who all dream of a better life. But the Newsies must fight against the publishing titans of the day -- Joseph Pulitzer and Randolph Hearst. The Newsies make allies, face power, and learn about their own strength when unified! Includes the songs “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” “King of New York” and “Santa Fe” and many exciting dance numbers!
