James Lusty
James C. Lusty is the co-founding partner at Type Six Development Services, where he serves as Lead Business Development as well as Lead Designer. With more than 20 years of extensive experience in architecture, James guides clients through complex projects that include site research, strategy, master planning, and design. He believes in collaborating closely with his clients to lead projects from concept through completion, providing continuous oversight and leading his clients to high-quality and cost-effective design solutions. This commitment to the highest standards of service, integrity and innovative design are at the core of Type Six. Providing more than top-notch design, but also a personal, teamwork mentality, are the reasons hospitality brands such as Hyatt, Hilton, Marriott, and IHG and multiple private restaurant groups nationally continue to partner with Type Six again and again.
Leadership and teamwork have been a part of James’ career from day one. During his 10 years of service including his role as Captain in the Army National Guard, he led a field artillery battery and fire support cell. He also served as Project Manager at JRK Design Inc., Linear! Architecture Incorporated and ArcVision Incorporated before founding Type Six Development Services in 2015.
James holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the University of Texas at Arlington and is an active member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA), Greater Arlington Chamber of Commerce, Grapevine Chamber of Commerce, and numerous veteran organizations. Grapevine, Texas is also where Lusty calls home with his wife of 17 years, Amanda, and their Hunter horses.
