Triple Crown Affair at Lone Star Park

Arts Council Northeast is pleased to announce our new annual fundraising event - the TRIPLE CROWN AFFAIR at LONE STAR PARK on Saturday, May 19, 2012. This is the Preakness – the second race of the Triple Crown! It will be held at Lone Star Park in Grand Prairie, Texas from 3 – 8 p.m. although guests may come as early as noon to see all of the races! The event will be in the private Trackside Ballroom so you can watch the live races up close as they cross the finish line! In addition, the Preakness will be simulcast live on the televisions. Guests will enjoy complimentary valet parking, a fabulous buffet and an open bar.

Throughout the year, Arts Council Northeast provides over 80 FREE Master Works Series concerts in cities throughout our area and after school arts education classes in the HEB and Birdville School Districts. During the past summer, 233 children participated in our Summer Arts College including a session at GRACE. We were able to offer 161 full and/or partial scholarships so once again no child was turned away. Moreover, we - in partnership with the Texas Commission on the Arts - have given over $1.3 million in grants to various entities to support the arts in our region.
