The Introduction to College Writing course focuses on the conventions of academic writing: the composing process, critical thinking, and critical reading. Emphasis will be on writing activities designed to prepare students for college- level writing and help them develop critical writing skills. Students will complete writing projects, research topics, have discussions, and participate in activities that will help prepare them to take more advanced courses. This course is very different from a high-school English class; it provides college-level assignments and activities.
