Officials in Grapevine will hold the city’s annual Flag Day Celebration on Monday, June 14 at 11 a.m. The event will take place at Grapevine’s Gazebo, located in the 300 block of Main Street in Historic Downtown Grapevine.
Members of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Boy Scout Troop 700 and other civic organizations will participate in this event, honoring the American flag.
Flag Day is officially celebrated on June 14. It commemorates the adoption of the flag of the United States, which occurred that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777. In 1916, President Woodrow Wilson issued a proclamation that officially established June 14 as Flag Day; in August 1949, National Flag Day was established by an Act of Congress.
