Patrick O’Neil of the Grapevine Police Department will deliver training on Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) on September 17, 2026 at 7 PM at Fellowship of the Parks, 2450 N Highway 121, Grapevine, TX 76051. It is sponsored by the Glade Crossing Neighborhood Association and open to all interested parties.

The presentation will include a video and presentation by Patrick O’Neil.  It is intended for audiences 17 and older.  
The goal of the Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) Training is to provide guidance to help individuals survive an active shooter event. It centers around the Avoid Deny Defend (ADD) strategy developed by the Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) Center at Texas State University in 2004. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, and the options people have in response to an attack.
