About the Program:

About the Speaker:
Nikki Nanos graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Speech/Drama from Northern Michigan University in 1978. She extended her education at Northern one extra year with a graduate Directed Study in Directing and Acting. She went from the freezing yet beautiful north of Michigan to California Institute of the Arts receiving a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Acting in 1981.

In 1987 Nikki was honored with the Outstanding Young Alumni Award from Northern Michigan University for her accomplishments in the entertainment industry. She has worked in the theatre and film industry for over 30 years, acting, teaching acting, field producing and directing to name a few.  Nikki taught drama at Beverly Hills Prep School in Beverly Hills and taught acting at KD Studios Actors Conservatory here in Dallas.  While in Los Angeles she was the Production Coordinator for the Westwood and Hollywood Playhouses and had the opportunity to work with such greats as Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald and Peggy Lee to name a few. Nikki was also the 2nd Unit Location Manager on the television show Walker, Texas Ranger.

Nikki began her journey into public speaking by joining Toastmasters International in 2009 with no intention of making public speaking a career, but she says, the bug bit her just as it had in acting so many years before. She joined the National Speakers Association-North Texas in 2014 as a speaking professional and public speaking coach. She brings to the public speaking arena her extensive theatre and film training and credits that training and knowledge for her successes in speaking and coaching.
