DESCRIPTION:The University of Texas at Arlington\, Division for Enterprise Development (UTADED) has been selected to lead the Texas Construction Career Academy for the TExas Department of Transportation (TxDOT). The Academy is funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) to provide training to increase students' abilities to be hired by highway contractors on Federal-aid projects.\n\n\n\nMarch Workshop Topics Include:\n\n	\n		Introduction to the Highway Construction Industry\n	\n		Forklift training\n	\n		OSHA 10-Hour Construction Course (including OSHA wallet card)\n	\n		Certified Flagger Course (including UT Arlington wallet card)\n	\n		Understanding of Safe Operations Within a Work Zone\n	\n		Introduction to Preventative Maintenance and Safe Operations of Vehicles and Equipment\n	\n		Class B CDL Exam Preparation and Written Examination\n	\n		Trenching Excavation Competent Person Training\n	\n		Resume Creation and Interview Techniques (including hands-on activities resulting in an individual resume and feedback from a practice interview)\n	\n		Job placement assistance will be available\n\nSeats for this workshop will fill quickly!
