DESCRIPTION:The 3rd annual Northeast Tarrant Transportation Summit will take place on Friday\, February 10\, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.\, at the Hurst Conference Center\, 1600 Campus Drive in Hurst. Tarrant County Commissioner Gary Fickes (Precinct 3) and the NTTS Transportation team organize the summit annually to spotlight important transportation projects and issues in Northeast Tarrant County as well as other regionally significant initiatives.\n\n\n\n"We have seen substantial progress in Tarrant County on projects that will significantly enhance mobility in the region\," said Fickes. "However\, as one of the fastest-growing regions in the country\, we need to be vigilant in advancing and completing new projects that will positively impact residents' quality of life\, businesses' bottom lines and the region's economic vitality."\n\n\n\nThe morning sessions\, which begin at 9 a.m.\, will focus on commuter rail in North Texas\, partnerships and processes for successful road projects\, and an overview of regional transportation. Guest speakers will include representatives from Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART)\, the Fort Worth Transportation Authority (The T)\, Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA)\, Michael Morris of NCTCOG\, Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price\, and other community leaders. Additionally\, attendees will hear updates on two major transportation projects\, the DFW Connector and the North Tarrant Express.\n\n\n\nPhil Wilson\, executive director of the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT)\, will deliver the keynote address at the luncheon at 11:45 a.m.\n\n\n\nReservations for the summit are available for $25 per person and can be made through the Grapevine Chamber of Commerce by calling (817) 481-1522.
