How many suns? Is the Earth flat? Charles Schulz touched on many aspects of the natural world during the nearly 50 years he created the Peanuts comic strip (October 1950 to February 2000). During the 1950s and 1960s, Schulz's characters explored aspects of the natural world with wonder and delight, and their cockamamie understanding of the world around them afforded many opportunities to introduce readers of the strip to fun facts about the natural world.
Opening on February 4, through April 22, the exhibit takes a light-hearted look at Charles Schulz's exploration of the natural world through Peanuts comic strips, videos, objects and interactive stations. Visitors get a Peanuts-eye view of the universe, "web of nature," trees, birds, the elements (snow, wind, rain and clouds), gardening and Charlie Brown's escapade. Activity stations allow children of all ages, from pre-school to adults, to learn more about and appreciate the wonders of the natural world. |

| On April 19, 2015, Grapevine Heritage AMBUCS will host our 12th Annual Big Bike Run. The Big Bike Run is a charity Poker Run event where riders/drivers travel a prescribed course and draw cards at designated stops. At the final stop, we gather for prizes, silent auction, entertainment, and 50/50 raffle worth up to $5,000. It?s sure to be a beautiful ride! The Grapevine Heritage chapter of AMBUCS celebrates over 20 years of serving our community! Our non-profit organization is dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities. One way we do this is with a special, therapeutic tricycle we call the AmTryke. Our AmTrykes can be motored by hand/or foot and are designed to accommodate riders of all ages, sizes, and varying degrees of physical limitations. The Grapevine Heritage chapter of AMBUCS is asking for your help in one of our biggest fundraisers of the year! Please help us provide trykes of disabled individuals who otherwise may never feel the freedom of their on bike! |
