EPIC Earth Day Info Packet
KGVB is hosting the 2nd Annual EPIC Earth Day Experience on April 5 in celebration of national Earth Day. "Last year, we had more than 2,000 people attend and expect to top 3,000 this year," said KGVB Executive Director Mary Jo Tellin. "Thomas The Train and the Chocolate Festival are also planned on the same day! It will be a great time for families to spend the day in Grapevine."
The free event includes eco-friendly vendors, an award-winning keynote speaker, entertainment and activities, including a full-scale eco house equipped with easy, energy-efficient ideas for everyone. "Vendor space and sponsorships are going quickly." Mary Jo said. "Sponsors and vendors benefit from the multiple events' large crowds that include area residents and tourists. Sponsors also like being associated with an eco-friendly event and award-winning city for implementing green and sustainable living."
The day brings statewide attention as it starts off at 8:00 am with Don't Mess With Texas Trash-Off where everyone can help with the litter pick up and beautification project in historic downtown Grapevine. According to Mary Jo, "This project is how we participate in the Great American Clean Up, the nation's largest community improvement program."
